Optical technology and the science of light and lenses are fascinating yet complicated. As opticians we want to convey our skill and knowledge in these subjects while not confusing our patients with technical jargon. The verbiage we use can build trust and confidence in new lens designs or advanced coatings. This course will improve your ability to communicate effectively with your patients which is imperative for successful recommendations to solve each person’s unique visual needs.
Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to: translate technical jargon for the layman; simplify optical principles using metaphors and common comparisons.; effective selling strategies for advanced lens technologies, material upgrades, and coatings; solve the dilemma of giving your patient’s enough, but not too much information during sales, dispense, and troubleshooting.
